Baltimore is often overlooked as one of the great places for spring break for families. It is much cheaper to visit than neighboring DC, while still offering families lots to do during their visit.
Plus, in Baltimore, you can skip the crazy cherry-blossom crowds in DC. Baltimore is also home to a cherry blossom basin along the harbor at Fort McHenry National Monument. They usually bloom around the end of March or early April, just in time for Spring Break. There is easy parking on site and the crowds are so much lighter so you can enjoy the blossoms in a more peaceful environment.
You’ll also find the National Aquarium in Baltimore’s inner harbor. It is an awesome 5-level aquarium that is a perfect stop for families with kids. Once you’re done at the aquarium, you can walk across the street to get crab cakes at Miss Shirley’s. When you think of family-friendly places to visit, Las Vegas, Nevada is not usually on the top of that list, but it is one of the perfect places for spring break. The weather is perfect and there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy in Las Vegas!
If your family loves to explore slot canyons like we do, there are some amazing slot canyons around Las Vegas such as White Owl Canyon. For the history buffs, take a tour of Hoover Dam. Hikers can check out Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. And for your mermaid-obsessed kids, watch the mermaid show at the Silverton Hotel. If you want to play in the water, visit Lake Mead.
Most of the casinos down The Strip have an attraction that is worth checking out. Our favorite is the Bellagio Fountain, followed closely by pelican feeding time at The Flamingo. There are even free trams to ride between some of the hotels.
A fun dinner while in Las Vegas is Tournament of the Kings at Excalibur. This is a kid-friendly medieval dinner and a show with kings and knights and jousting. Las Vegas is lots of fun and a perfect spring getaway for the whole family.
