Toronto is the largest city in Canada and a vibrant place for families to visit during spring break. Known for its multicultural neighborhoods, iconic skyline and endless popular attractions, there are plenty of things to do in Toronto!

Topping the list of family friendly activities are Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, the Toronto Zoo, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the Ontario Science Centre. All these attractions have activities or exhibitions designed to keep young ones (and parents) engaged and entertained.

Plus, you can’t visit Toronto without heading up the CN tower for breathtaking panoramic views and a thrilling experience for the kids.

And, for the ultimate family day trip from Toronto, you can visit the mighty Niagara Falls, which is only a 1.5 hour drive away!

Or, if you’re looking for more budget-friendly activities, Toronto also has plenty of free and cheap things to do, such as High Park, which has numerous hiking trails and an onsite public zoo. And, if the timing is right, you’ll be able to see the cherry blossoms, which usually bloom in April.

Toronto also has a beautiful waterfront to explore, endless bike paths, green spaces, famous landmarks, and excellent street food. In particular, visit Kensington Market for Toronto’s most unique food vendors, such as Rasta Pasta for Jamaican food with a twist.

26. Mexico City, Mexico

If you ever thought about visiting the bustling capital city of Mexico, there is no better time than during spring break.

Between March and April, Mexico City is covered in beautiful blossoms, and with day temperatures of around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and minimal rainfall, you will have the ideal weather to enjoy this exciting city to the fullest.

Make sure to attend a Lucha Libre show, which is a fantastic way to experience the modern Mexican culture first hand. Arena Mexico hosts family-friendly shows on Sundays.

Next, explore the majestic Teotihuacan Pyramids. Just an hour’s drive from the city, these ancient structures offer a breathtaking glimpse into pre-Columbian history.

A boat trip in Xochimilco is another excellent activity for the whole family. Cruise along the colourful canals in a traditional trajinera while enjoying live mariachi music.

Don’t miss the Frida Kahlo Museum in the charming neighbourhood of Coyoacán. This blue house, where Frida spent many years, is a vibrant tribute to her life and art.

If you’re looking for an authentic place to eat, the Coyoacán Market is perfect. Here, you will find all the tasty Mexican street food, such as tacos al pastor, tamales, and tostadas.

So many fab options! I seem to remember lots of Americans coming to Whistler for Spring break as well (to get a final ski of the season in!) I quite like the sound of some of these warmer options as I am ready for the sun after the cold of the winter!!

So many fun ideas for families during Spring break. National Parks are always a good idea and a favorite for us. We’ve only been to Joshua Tree in August and it was so hot, so Spring would be ideal.
